Rio Metro’s/MRMPO’s adopted FY2019 targets for the three performance measures are noted in parentheses above. They are all low, reflecting the NMRX system’s relatively young age and sound asset condition.
The project will not improve the targets, per se, but will instead ensure that they don’t degrade because of a PTC-preventable incident. For example, a train-on-train collision resulting in the premature retirement of one or more rail vehicles would result in Rio Metro’s immediate failure to meet its rolling stock performance targets. This project, therefore, helps safeguard the NMRX system’s state of good repair.
